Tour Summary

Cam Thanh nipa palm forest is about 7 hactare , located in a peacefull village,opposite to Cua Dai Estuary , 5 km far from Hoi An City, During the American war time this used to be the shelter for local people and soldiers. Nowadays, this place is famous for providing the most seafood procduts for this area, and for fishing boats to hide from typhoon during the rainy season . it is also an ideal place for tourist experience the “real’ fishing life of the local community. The most typical way to travel through the place is coracle ( a peculiar vietnamese round bamboo Basket boat) which fishermen use to transfering or go fishing off shore.

There are many methods of fishing here but the most interesting ways for tourists are cast net and lifting up the big round net. Hoi An Ecotourism would like to organize this tour to offer tourists exciting moments while joining with fisherman in some hands-on activities that are fun, safe and interesting to people all of ages.it would be an unfogettable experience in Hoi An!

Full Intinerary

• I will pick you up at your hotel' loppy  around  8AM by Bike. Biking  to Fishing  Village of  Cam Thanh  .On the way you will go through picturesque countryside roads  with the rice field, nipa palm forest, shrimp or fish  farm...you will have opportunity to witness local Vietnamese rural life ,you can get up close and personal with the daily life of them.(45 minutes or 1 hour)

• When we arrive at Fishing Village, Meet a local fishing family,Learn about daily life of vietnamese fishermen,their custom and community . 

  Leaving the village behind ,You will board our boat and cruise to the mouth of the river where it meets the Cua Dai Sea. Then meeting  and engage with local fishermen and enjoy a hands-on experience of traditional net fishing.The local fisherman will show you the method of catching fish that is to throw a round net into the river from a small boat.After being taught how it is done it will be your turn.

  The next part of our adventure is to fish by using a huge square net that is set on the river bed which is then winch up. With helps of another couple of local fisherman you will collect the fish inside that net through a hole at the bottom. 

  Following, you will learn to paddle the unique Vietnamese bamboo basket round boat through small and beautiful channel and join in a basket boat race.Then  head into the nipa palm forest where tourist have opportunities to catch small crabs by fishing rod for fun as well as some products from this tree was make by our staff for souvenir.

  After Fishing activities,we continue biking to my house in rice village (it takes 15 minutes of biking).Reach my house, be welcome with a glass of passion fruit juice and wet tissues. 

  Before having lunch with my family I will show you how to making white rice (Rice product ready to use in Viet Nam ) by traditional way with some old hand machine in my house:

  Firstly,Husking the rice to have brown rice - winnowing to separate brown rice from husk – sifting and pounding brown rice  to become white rice - grinding white rice to get rice flour, and cooking rice pancake from rice flour .You will join a short rice pancake cooking class with my wife - Last  step is :Enjoy the Lunch  with some specialties of our village : Tam Huu (three friends ), Deep Fried Spring Rolls(vegetarian style), Local rice pancake serve with fresh organic vegetable and fish sauce, Steamed rice, Fish (or chicken' meat ), shrimp, pork, Season fruits 

  The tour will be finished around 1 P.M. Biking back to  your hotel .

1. Tour is seating coach tour  with a small group. 
2. Children under 4 F.O.C; and from 5-11 half of the Adult price.Children rate applies only when sharing with 2 paying adults.
3. In case of bad weather, tour will be cancelled. full refund if not done.
